Author Bio: Dr. Brian Kwoba is an associate professor of history and director of the African and African American Studies Program at the University of Memphis. Prior to earning his PhD at the University of Oxford, he earned a masters in teaching at Tufts University and worked as a history and social studies teacher at the Boston Arts Academy, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, and Boston Prep.
