A Nepali-born culinary entrepreneur, restaurant owner, and CEO, Biplaw Rai is dedicated to building community through food. In 2023, his latest venture Comfort Kitchen opened to great excitement and greater acclaim: named “Best New Restaurant” by Boston Magazine and the Boston Globe, one of the top 50 in the country by the New York Times, and nominated for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation. Biplaw is a Restaurant Fellow for the Boston Ujima Project, a democratic, member-run investment fund returning wealth to working-class communities of color.
