Freedom Sounds: Esli Honore

Esli Honore is a Caribbean pianist and organist from Haiti who weaves a tapestry of classical, jazz, gospel, and Latin Caribbean sounds into his own genre: "Mazoukompa." Honore’s music captures the essence of his Haitian roots and his lived experiences in the Dominican Republic, creating a dynamic and culturally rich sound that distinguishes him as an innovator in the world of jazz. Whether performing on major stages or in intimate settings, he showcases a deep connection to his heritage. 

Esli Honore began experimenting with the piano at the age of six. His passion for music grew, leading him to start formal music lessons at thirteen. As he refined his craft, he pursued studies at the Dominican Republic National Conservatory, where he officially began his formal music education.
