JustBe(Loved) is a poetry collective based out of JustBook-ish that uses poetry as a tool to question, examine, and reimagine the world around us. Coached by Crystal Valentine, Artistic Director at Mass Poetry, and Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah, Poet Laureate of the City of Boston, the collective fosters both artistic excellence and community. JustBe(Loved) is a poetry slam and open mic that occurs every 1st & 3rd Friday
In 2026, JustBe(Loved) selected its first-ever poetry slam team: TruKwene, Navah the Buddaphliii, Brynna Boyd, Jennifer Martinez, and Mahesh Yarasi. Together, they write, perform, and compete throughout New England, bringing distinct voices together in a shared commitment to storytelling, practice, and performance.
