Synopsis of Film:

The Free Black Women's Library centers on Nigerian American artist and activist Ola Akinmowo's innovative literary and social art initiative in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy. This remarkable project features a collection of more than 5,000 books authored solely by Black women and non-binary individuals and serves as a vibrant community hub for learning, creativity, and cultural celebration in a gentrifying neighborhood.


Michele Bio:

Michele Avery is the Co-founder of ReRooted Productions. With over 15 years of creative experience in the entertainment and media industry, she has collaborated with recognized brands like OWN Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, and Warner Brothers Discovery. She is the Co-Writer and Director of the play "Crown Of Times" and the Co-Curator of the exhibit "What’s Hair Got to Do…
