About the event

Toni Morrison’s impact is two-fold as a writer and editor. Her work transformed the American imagination, widening the literary lens and re-centering it on voices and ideas previously obscured in public discourse. Seven years after her passing, we’re experiencing, not a revival, but a re-canonization of Toni Morrison as evidenced by the release of new editions of her work with forewords by contemporary superstars like Tayari Jones and Honorée Jeffers. At Just Book-ish we're celebrating these re-issues with the Morrison Seminar led by Taylor Lena McTootle.

Books like Sula, The Bluest Eye, Beloved and Song of Solomon are widely discussed, but over the next four months, we’ll take a look at the equally ingenious Tar Baby, Jazz, and Paradise, each for their unique perspectives. The Morrison Seminar at Just Book-ish is an opportunity to learn about the woman, the writer and to receive and share insights on Morrison’s worlds. Join us! We welcome you.
