About the event
VITFriends is a Vitiligo Support Group founded in 2009 in Boston, MA. Our goal is to support Vitiligo patients, their family and supporters, as we connect with Dermatologist and Psychologist to support our membership.
We launched our READING initiative in 2019 with our North Carolina affiliate, after learning of a second grader who was being bullied for her Vitiligo. Sadly, we were never able to fully roll it out into schools, camps and libraries in 2019-2021 due to the Pandemic. Finally, the 2022-2023 school year enabled the opening of a few opportunities for us to read and we are grateful.
VITILIGO is a misunderstood skin disease, of the autoimmune family of diseases, for which there is still NO known cause or cure.
